Tumwater police are looking for several suspects who kidnapped an overnight security guard so they could break into a cannabis production facility.
Police said the thieves got away with tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, and though it was a terrifying ordeal, the security guard who was abducted at gunpoint was not injured.
Police say seven suspects in two stolen vehicles are seen on camera suddenly pulling up to Evergrow Northwest in Tumwater around 3 a.m. the morning of April 5 and confronted the security guard.
While three of the suspects abducted the security guard, four others broke into the business through a window.
According to police, the perpetrators managed to escape with merchandise valued at tens of thousands of dollars. Despite the harrowing experience, the security guard who was abducted at gunpoint emerged unharmed.
Law enforcement officials reported that seven suspects arrived in two stolen vehicles, as captured by surveillance cameras, at Evergrow Northwest in Tumwater around 3 a.m. on April 5. They then proceeded to confront the security guard.
