The Stockton Police Department reports they are investigating a mass shooting that injured six people outside a barbershop on Martin Luther King Boulevard on the city’s southside.
Police said the shooting happened in the south Stockton area on the 500 block of W MLK Jr Boulevard at 2 p.m.
Stockton Police spokesperson Omer Edhah said six people were struck by gunfire and they were all transported to a local hospital for various injuries.
All the injured victims are expected to survive.

On April 11, at approximately 2:10 p.m., multiple people were shot in broad daylight near Charter Way and Lincoln Street, just blocks from Edison High School. Six adults were shot and either transported themselves or were taken to local hospitals for treatment. We are relieved to report there are no fatalities at this time.
This kind of violence, especially so close to our schools and local businesses, is deeply troubling. Our officers responded quickly and are currently conducting a full investigation.
At this stage, no suspects are in custody, and the motive remains unknown. However, we do not believe this to be a random act of violence.
