Stabbing Spree in Rockford, Illinois, 4 Dead, 5 Injured, Christian Soto Arrested

4 DEAD AND SEVERAL INJURED BY STABBING IN ILLINOIS

Authorities responded to an emergency call for an assault with a white gun in #Rockford, #Illinois, leaving four people dead and five injured.

According to reports from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, a burglary was reported at Cleveland Avenue and Eggleston Road.

In the attack, a young woman fled the scene and was chased by the attacker who stabbed her in the hands and face, and is currently in serious condition.

Rockford Illinois Police Department Press Release Re: Multiple Homicides, Christian Soto in Custody

ROCKFORD, IL – On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at approximately 1:14 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to multiple addresses in the area of Holmes Street, Winnetka Drive, and Cleveland Avenue. We are currently working through the details of the investigation and further updates will follow as the investigation continues. The suspect, a 22-year-old male, was located in the same area and taken into custody at 1:35 p.m.

At the time of this release, there are four deceased victims: A 15-year-old female, a 63-year-old female, a 49-year-old male, and a 22-year-old male. There are five additional victims who were transported to local hospitals and are currently being treated for serious injuries.

This is a very active and multi-level, multi-agency investigation and has an extensive amount of moving parts. As with any investigation, further details and charges may come at a later date.
