Suspect Uses Pickaxe in Alleged Robbery of Pawn Shop Caught on Camera

Police need your help finding two robbers caught on video using an axe to smash through jewelry displays in a southeast Houston pawn shop.

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for an aggravated robbery.

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at about 4:10 pm, two unknown males entered a pawn shop, located at the 4400 block of Griggs, in Houston, Texas. One of the males remained at the door while the second male walked up to the display cases while holding a pickaxe. The male began to smash the display case with the axe, causing the glass to break. The suspect then reached into the display case and removed several pieces of jewelry. Both suspects then fled the location on foot. Houston PD #188318-23.

Suspect #1: Black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6’3 to 6’4, green hoodie, gray pants, and wore glasses.
Suspect #2: Black male, white shirt and khaki pants.
