Two people were killed and five others were wounded in an early morning shooting in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood on Sunday.
Police reported that a shooting incident in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood overnight on Sunday has resulted in two fatalities and five injuries.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 700 block of P Street NW, as confirmed by D.C. police. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that five men and two women had sustained gunshot wounds. The location of the shooting is in close proximity to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
D.C. Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll stated, “The initial information that we have at this time is a total of seven people were shot at this location.”
The two individuals who lost their lives are both men, although their identities have not been disclosed at this time.
Police have reported that the five injured individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospitals and are listed in stable condition.
