13 police officers killed in ambush by organized crime members in Coyuca de Benitez, Mexico.
The police chief and public safety director and 4 police officers were killed by drug cartel gunmen in an ambush.
The remaining officers, including a female officer were taken prisoner and then executed in mass.
Coyuca de Benitez is located in the state of Guerrero just north of the hurricane ravaged city of Acapulco.
300 Guardia Nacional officers have been diverted from hurricane relief operations to Coyuca de Benitez to search for the cartel gunmen.
