Chihuahua State Police Press Release Re: Three Officers Killed, Four Wounded in Ambush near Moris

Today we honorably bid farewell to our colleagues Ana Esmeralda Arteaga Arroyo, Germán Peralta Hernández, and Guillermo Aguirre Palma, who died in the line of duty.

We at the SSPE reaffirm our commitment to follow their example and ensure peace in Chihuahua, with the same dedication they demonstrated until their very last moment.

Following instructions from the Secretary of Security, Gilberto Loya, an operation has been deployed in the municipality of Moris, led by the Undersecretary of Police Deployment, Ricardo Realivázquez. We will work tirelessly to find those responsible for the cowardly attack that claimed the lives of our fellow soldiers.

For more than 36 hours, more than 200 State Police officers deployed tactical operations with two Blackhawk helicopters and drone air support in the area of Moris. As a result of the operation, we dismantled a criminal cell involved in the attack in which three state agents lost their lives in the line of duty. Nine people were arrested, and weapons, magazines, vehicles, and drugs were seized.
