FCSO MAKES ARREST AFTER DEADLY SHOOTING
On June 24, 2025, at approximately 11:30 pm, FCSO deputies responded to a call of a shooting incident on First Neck Road near Johnsonville, SC. When deputies arrived, the victim was discovered laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to an area Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken has identified the victim as 16-year-old Trey Dean Wright of Johnsonville, SC. Devin Scott Raper was taken into custody on June 25, 2025, in Conway, SC, and charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. According to Investigators, Raper is alleged to have shot the victim following a verbal altercation.
Horry County Police Department, US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Florence County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Bureau were involved in Raper’s apprehension. The Investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
Raper is being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
