Former Police Officer Fugitive Dan Hiers Jr. Captured in China by U.S. Marshals

U.S. Marshals report that former police officer Dan Hiers Jr. has been captured in China after 21 years as a fugitive from justice.
Marshals say that Hiers was on trial for alleged sex crimes against a child and was released from custody.
Hiers then allegedly murdered his wife and fled the country.

After more than 20 years as a fugitive, U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitive Dan Hiers Jr. has been returned to the United States to face justice following a lengthy investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service. Hiers was wanted in connection with the 2005 murder of his wife, Ludimila Hiers. The U.S. Marshals Service remains committed to pursuing fugitives wherever they may be.
All persons are to be considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
