Suspects brutally attacked a United States Postal Service worker in Queens, caught on camera.
Exclusively obtained by PIX11 News, the video shows the moments a USPS mail carrier is confronted and beaten by thieves.
The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a series of robberies in Queens, specifically targeting mail keys.
The first incident took place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at around 11:18 a.m. near 102-35 64th Road. Two unidentified individuals approached a 48-year-old man from behind, telling him, “I have a gun; give me your keys,” while one suspect simulated a weapon. The suspects assaulted the victim before stealing keys to a USPS truck and mailboxes. They fled on foot and escaped in a black sedan.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills/Northwell Health Hospital.
The second incident occurred the following day, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 1:27 p.m. Two individuals approached a 51-year-old man near 166th Street and 76th Road. After exiting a red sedan, they demanded the victim’s mail keys, again simulating a weapon. They stole the keys and fled in the red vehicle. No injuries were reported in this incident.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
