Fugitive: Mountain View serial sex predator charged, assaulted unconscious victims.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has charged a Mountain View barber with sexual assaults on two men, one of which included a kidnapping.
Law enforcement believes that Franklin Enrique Sarceno Orla, 34, may have assaulted many more victims and are looking for those people to come forward. Meanwhile, Sarceno Orla has fled, and law enforcement is also seeking information about his whereabouts.
Evidence seized by police shows that the fugitive may have assaulted at least 20 different men, who appear to be passed out and/or severely intoxicated. Sarceno Orla videotaped many of the assaults.
Anyone who suspects they may have been victimized by the suspect may contact the Mountain View Police Department at (650) 903-6618 or email Detective Lauren Riffel at [email protected] or Detective Guillermo de Lira at [email protected]
If caught and convicted, he could face life in prison.
“There was a sexual predator in our community, and we thank the Mountain View Police Department for identifying him,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said. “With the help of courageous victims, investigators, and the public we will soon have him in custody to keep him from ever hurting anyone again.”
The MVPD launched an investigation after a man, in July of this year, said he woke up injured and woozy after having drinks with the suspect. Forensic testing showed the person had been sexually assaulted.
Another identified victim said the suspect was his barber and he had lost consciousness while having beers with him.
Sarceno Orla was initially arrested for sexual assault in late August 2024. He posted bail that was set at $250,000 shortly after his arrest.
Further investigation by MVPD showed that the suspect may have assaulted approximately 20 different men dating back to 2018 or before. In those cases, the men appear to be unconscious and/or intoxicated during the assaults. Police are currently in the process of identifying these victims and perhaps others.
Authorities suggest that if you believe you may have been victimized to please contact your doctor to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. The law protects the identities of sexual assault victims. If someone suspects they may have been victimized by Sarceno Orla, the survivor will not lose their right to anonymity and confidentiality by reporting it to the police.
