Birmingham police have released video involving a police officer fatally shooting a female Vanessa Ragland.
Birmingham Police Chief Michael Pickett reports that officers responded to a call at a home on a disturbance call involving a “person that was being violent and possibly involved weapons.”
According to authorities, Ragland engaged the officer, forcing the officer to use less-lethal force in an attempt to gain control of her. Ragland continued to fight with the officer, ultimately causing the officer to discharge their firearm fatally striking Ragland.
