One arrest has been made in connection with the tragic shooting that claimed the lives of a mother and daughter in Worcester on Tuesday. Police have not divulged any details about the apprehended suspect, who is scheduled to be arraigned in Worcester Central District Court on Thursday.
Authorities are actively seeking a second individual in relation to the shooting. Dejan Belnavis, 27, is sought for his alleged involvement in the murders of Chasity Nunez and 11-year-old Zella Nunez.
Worcester police have issued a warrant for Belnavis, cautioning the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous. He faces charges of armed assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm without a license.
The victims were inside a parked SUV on Lisbon Street near Englewood Avenue when their vehicle was targeted by gunfire just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
