Fairfax County Police Officer Allegedly Stabbed by Teenager Caught on Camera

Police say that the 16-year-old has been charged with Malicious Wounding, and he remains in custody.

The Fairfax County Police Department reports that a 16-year-old male suspect allegedly made a 911 call reporting he had killed 2 people. When an officer arrived on the scene, the suspect allegedly attacked the officer, stabbing him.

Fair Oaks Police District- Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have charged a teenager who stabbed an officer during a call for service in Fair Lakes.

Yesterday, at 2:38 p.m., officers responded to the 12800 block of Fair Lakes Parkway in Fair Lakes for a suspicious event. It was reported that an unknown caller made statements to our dispatch center that he had killed two people.

While investigating the incident, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, ran toward an officer and immediately began assaulting him. During the assault, the teen stabbed the officer once in the upper body with a knife and was then taken into custody. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. It was determined that the suspect was the initial dispatch caller and the statements he made were false.

The officer who was stabbed is a six-year veteran assigned to the Fair Oaks District. Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have charged the 16-year-old with Malicious Wounding, and he remains in custody.
