Gastonia Store Clerk Scottie Floyd Shot by Gunman Caught on Camera

The suspect, Christian Campbell, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and is now awaiting additional charges in Gastonia.

Scottie Floyd has worked as a store clerk for 21 years and lived by one motto: Treat the customers well and they will treat you well.

Forest City Police Department Press Release

Last night around 8:45 the Forest City Police Department responded to a shooting at POP’s that left one individual suffering from two gunshot wounds. There was not an event ongoing at the venue at the time, however there was a gathering of local car enthusiasts in the parking lots around the farmer’s market.

The victim was ground transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional Hospital and was
listed in stable condition and undergoing medical treatment for his wounds.

As our investigators got on scene, they were able to identify the suspect who committed the shooting as Christian C. Campbell of Gastonia. They were able to identify both he and his girlfriend, Acacia Ingle, who drove him from the scene, by means of witnesses interviews, video footage from the scene, and cooperation from the public. Ingle, who lives in Ellenboro was charged and arrested on the day of the shooting Aid and Abet Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.

Campbell was arrested during the afternoon of June 14, 2025, following a brief standoff with law enforcement. Campbell has been charged with Assault with a deadly weapon with Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury, Discharge of a Firearm within an Inclosure to Incite Fear. He is currently being held in the Rutherford County Detention Center without bond which will be set by a district court judge on Monday.
