WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF A DEPUTY DURING JAIL TRANSPORT

On June 23, 2025, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Joseph Miller arrested Rheanna Harden for Attempted Second Degree Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, following a deputy-involved shooting early this morning.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Deputy A. Guillard conducted a traffic stop and arrested Harden on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement, and Knowingly Driving While License Suspended. Harden was handcuffed, searched, and secured in the back seat of Deputy Guillard’s patrol vehicle for transport to the Marion County Jail.

While traveling northbound on S Highway 441 near the 2900 block, Harden—still handcuffed in the back seat—retrieved a firearm concealed in her pants and opened fire towards Deputy Guillard’s head. The patrol vehicle crashed into a utility pole, at which point he exited the vehicle, returned fire, and took cover. Deputy Guillard sustained a graze wound near his right eye, while Harden suffered injuries to her shoulder and hip. Both were transported to the hospital and later released.

Harden, a convicted felon with a history of fleeing, theft, drug, and weapons charges, now faces additional charges and is being held at the Marion County Jail with no bond.
