WANTED – MARQUIS JOHNSON

Honolulu Police Department investigators have identified 34-year-old Marquis Johnson as the alleged suspect in the August 8, 2025, acid attack in Chinatown that left a 30-year-old man in critical condition.

Johnson is considered dangerous. If you see him do NOT approach. Call 911 immediately.

On August 8, 2025, shortly after 10:00 PM, District 1 patrol officers responded to an assault complaint in the Chinatown area.

Witnesses reported that a 30-year-old man was crossing the street when an unknown suspect approached and threw an unidentified liquid in his face, causing severe burns.

The suspect is described as an approximately 6-foot male wearing a blue fitted shirt and a dew rag, with a camera around his neck and carrying a red bottle.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. The Honolulu Fire Department later identified the liquid as sulfuric acid.

The investigation is ongoing.
