Search underway for robbery suspects connected to downtown Houston shooting.
Houston Police Department Press Release Regarding Concert Shooting and Robbery
The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for an aggravated robbery.
On Sunday, January 8, 2023, at around 11:30 pm, the complainants were walking to their vehicle at a commercial parking lot at the 1800 block of St. Joseph Parkway (Downtown), in Houston, Texas. The complainants stated that as they were crossing the street, an unknown male exited a newer model white sedan and ran up to them while armed with a handgun and demanding their property. The complainants ran from the suspect, who then fired several rounds toward them, striking the male complainant twice and causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect ran up to the male complainant, but then turned around and ran back to the white sedan, and fled the scene. The complainant was treated and released from the hospital.
Just prior to the robbery, the same suspects committed another robbery at the 1500 block of Polk Street, in Downtown Houston, Texas. The male complainant was walking towards his vehicle, when the suspect exited a white four-door sedan, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded his property. The suspect took the complainant’s property, got back into the white sedan, and fled the scene. (This robbery was not captured on video)
Note: Just prior to the incident, the suspect(s) were observed on video surveillance at a concert venue in Downtown Houston.
Suspect description: Black male, dark complexion, slim build, all black clothing, white tennis shoes, black gun and wore multiple necklaces
Suspect vehicle: White four-door sedan.
