Las Vegas Metro Police report their officers shot Lorraine Alvarado after a police pursuit. Police say the suspect had just committed an alleged robbery and that she was armed with a gun.

Assistant Sheriff James Seebock Discusses March 1, 2023 Officer Involved Shooting
On March 1, 2023, at approximately 6:06 p.m., LVMPD Dispatch received a call from a business reporting an armed robbery near the 4600 block of West Sahara Avenue. The person reporting stated three females walked into the establishment, and one was armed. The suspects stole merchandise and fled the scene in a stolen black Mercedes-Benz.
LVMPD officers located the vehicle near Paradise Road and East Sahara Avenue. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful. A vehicle pursuit ensued until the suspect collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Stephanie Street and Sunset Road.
A suspect later identified as 31-year-old Lorraine Alvarado fled from the vehicle while holding a firearm in her hand. While officers Justin Garcia and Jacob Barr chased Alvarado, she turned and pointed the firearm at them.
Officer Garcia and Barr discharged their duty weapons, striking Alvarado.
Medical personnel responded and transported Alvarado to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition.
Alvarado was booked in absentia to the Clark County Detention Center for the following
charges:
• Robbery with a deadly weapon
• Conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon
• Grand larceny of motor vehicle
• Own/Possess gun by prohibited person
• Assault with a deadly weapon on a protected person, 2 counts
• Resisting arrest with a firearm, 2 counts
