The suspect gunned down by police in a Southcenter hotel has been identified as retired Navy doctor Bruce Coval Meneley.

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Seattle Police responded to an incident at the DoubleTree Suites Hilton Hotel involving the arrest of a 67-year-old man under investigation by the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

According to the Police, the suspect Bruce Coval Meneley believed he was meeting with two girls, aged 7 and 11. However, unbeknownst to him, multiple SPD officers were undercover and awaiting his arrival to make the arrest.

Body-camera footage captured the moment when officers opened the door for the suspect, who immediately brandished a gun. A struggle ensued, leading to the police firing at the suspect.

Tragically, the suspect Bruce Coval Meneley was later pronounced dead at the scene. One officer sustained a minor injury, having been grazed by a bullet, and received treatment at the scene.

Thankfully, no one else was harmed during the incident.

  1. Dang, it’s too bad a almost retired doctor lost his life ball because of his sick fantasies. With that being said how did he possibly arrange or think he was going to come off with meeting 2 young kids in a public setting where they would have to be with an adult to get in the hotel?
