Nicholas Joseph Tomlin Arrested for Allegedly Physically Abusing His Children

Police say that suspect Nicholas Joseph Tomlin was allegedly intoxicated when he abused his children.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, at 8:30 PM, Officers were called to 18068 State Highway 180, Mo’s Landing, to investigate a report of an intoxicated man who was being verbally and physically abusive towards his children.

When officers arrived, they located a man attempting to cross the highway with three small children.

After speaking with the male, he was detained for public intoxication. Witnesses at the park were interviewed and evidence was recovered that showed him picking one of the children up by the hair and clothing then slamming him into a stroller.

Based on the officer’s investigation, 23-year-old Nicholas Joseph Tomlin, of Gulf Shores, was arrested and charged with Willful Torture or Abuse/Mistreatment of a Child, Domestic Violence Third Degree, Reckless Endangerment (3 counts), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication.

Nicholas Tomlin is currently being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Correction Center.

The children’s ages range between 2 and 4 years old.

The Alabama Department of Human Resources- Child Protective Services is assisting with the investigation.
