News Release – 13-year-old Male Arrested for School Shooter Ideations

PIERCE COUNTY, WA – In the late afternoon of September 5th, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office received intelligence communication about a juvenile residing in Pierce County with school shooter ideations who was making threats to kill. The juvenile had also stated he had access to firearms.

On September 6th around 1:00 am, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT served a seizure of person warrant on the home of the 13-year-old male, who resided in the 13500 block of 20th Ave. Ct. E. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and later booked into Remann Hall with no issues.

This investigation remains active and is still in progress. Thus far, the search has produced a large quantity of firearms that were both secured and unsecured. Loaded magazines with school shooter writings on them, and clothing and writings that would support a typical mass shooting scenario, were confiscated. The student was last enrolled in the Franklin Pierce School District in 2021 but has been unenrolled since and is not currently an active student in any school district.

We want to thank all agencies that assisted and the Pierce County Sheriff personnel who have spent the last 24 hours tirelessly working this case and bringing closure to something that could have harmed our community. Thanks to their quick actions, we are safe today.
