San Leandro Police Department Press Release Re: Real gun painted to look like Nerf gun.
Yesterday, around 4:48 p.m., San Leandro officers were dispatched to Tudor Road regarding someone brandishing a gun.
The caller said the individual was seen outside, in the neighborhood with a rifle.
Ultimately, officers learned the same individual was last seen inside a residence with the firearm. SLPD officers and detectives arrived at the home and set containment around the house in question.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and safely called out the suspect with the help of our armored rescue vehicle, SLPD drone team, and an ally agencies helicopter support.
Officers and detectives searched the residence and located two firearms in the suspect’s possession. Two rifles and an additional handgun was located inside the residence. One of the firearms was a rifle painted to look like a Nerf gun, which was loaded with a 100-round drum.
This incident highlights another great teamwork by SLPD staff!
