Prison Escape in Mexico Results in Death of 10 Guards, 17 Inmates and 25 Escaped Inmates

Mexican prison escape leaves 27+ dead and 25 inmates on the run.

The Mexican Ministry of Defense reports that 25 inmates escaped after armed men attacked a prison in Ciudad Juarez near the border with El Paso, Texas, killing 10 guards and 17 inmates in a massive prison escape.

Numerous other civilians were killed by drug cartel gunmen in random acts of murder and by escaped inmates committing carjackings.

The government has dispatched 200 special forces soldiers, 516 regular troops and 393 Guardia Nacional officers to help the local and state police in restoring order and recapturing the escaped inmates.
