Officers with the Redding Police Department arrested an armed suspect following a vehicle pursuit through the City of Redding on February 5, 2026.

Earlier in the day, officers received a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) for Daniel KEISER, 33, of Redding, who was wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident in Shasta County. Information indicated KEISER was possibly armed with multiple firearms and had made statements about fleeing from law enforcement and “suicide by cop.” He was considered armed and dangerous.

At approximately 3:24 p.m., a Shasta County Sheriff’s Office deputy located KEISER driving northbound on Interstate 5. KEISER briefly pulled over, then fled at a high rate of speed northbound on the interstate. The pursuit continued into the City of Redding, where Redding Police officers assisted.

During the pursuit, KEISER drove recklessly at speeds over 100 mph, made unsafe lane changes, drove on the shoulder, ran multiple red lights, and at times traveled into opposing lanes of traffic. On several occasions, Keiser attempted to purposefully ram pursuing Officers with his vehicle. His actions created a significant danger to the public and responding officers. Officers attempted vehicle intervention techniques to safely stop the pursuit as it entered heavily populated areas.

The pursuit ended after KEISER drove through a residential yard, crashed through a fence, and the vehicle collided with a tree. KEISER fled on foot but was quickly located and taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Following the arrest, officers located multiple unsecured firearms inside the vehicle, including two AR-15 style rifles, two loaded handguns, and several thousand rounds of ammunition. KEISER is a prohibited person and is not legally allowed to possess firearms or ammunition.

KEISER was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including illegal weapons possession, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, domestic violence, and felony evading.
