Great Job SJPD 👏👏👏
SJPD Conducts Human Trafficking Enforcement Operation
On November 20, 2025, the San José Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) conducted a proactive human trafficking enforcement operation in north San José.
HTTF Detectives recovered two adult female survivors during an operation targeting online commercial sex advertisements. Both survivors were provided immediate safety planning, advocacy support, and referrals to service providers. The operation also resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Roberto Edwards, who was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for pimping and pandering.
Another adult male suspect was taken into custody for solicitation of prostitution.
This enforcement operation was carried out as part of the Department’s expanded human trafficking enforcement strategy leading into Super Bowl 60.
Historically, major events of this scale has drawn increased commercial sexual exploitation in host cities.
Recognizing these risks, SJPD has intensified its enforcement through targeted operations aimed at identifying survivors, interrupting trafficking activity, and deterring individuals who contribute to the demand for commercial sex.
The San José Police Department remains committed to eradicating human trafficking in our community and encourages anyone with information about such activities to contact the Human Trafficking Task Force at (408) 537-1999 or email stopslavery.@sanjoseca.gov.
