San Jose Police Department Press Release Re: SJPD Arrests Suspect Josiah Adorno for Alleged Multiple Sexual Batteries

On March 19, 2026, at approximately 9:40 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a sexual battery that occurred at a mall parking lot located in the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The adult female survivor was walking to her car when an adult male suspect approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her over her clothing.
The survivor fell to the ground as she fought the suspect away. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The survivor sustained non-life threatening injuries from the attack and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
SJPD Sexual Assaults Investigation Unit Detectives began a thorough investigation and identified the primary suspect as Josiah Adorno.
During the investigation, Detectives discovered that Suspect Adorno was responsible for two similar sexual batteries that occurred in the city of San José. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.
On May 26, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit and Patrol Officers, Detectives located and apprehended Suspect Adorno in the city of San José. Suspect Adorno was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes including false imprisonment and felony sexual battery.
