Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Press Release Update

Names of deputies involved in March 4 deputy-involved shooting.

After every deputy-involved shooting, we conduct a threat assessment to ensure that our deputies and their families are safe. The threat assessment process includes an investigation into whether the suspect has any family, friends, or acquaintances that would have the desire and ability to harm the deputy or the deputy’s family. The potential threat varies based on the suspect. As an example, if a suspect has a violent criminal history, we would investigate whether their friends or associates would want the deputy to be hurt or killed as retaliation.

We’ve completed the threat assessment for this shooting and can now safely release the deputies’ names to the public.

The following deputies were involved in the March 4 deputy-involved shooting in the unincorporated area of Southwest Santa Rosa:

• Giulia Geary, Deputy Sheriff for 10 months.
• James Blount, Deputy Sheriff for 10 months.
• Jeannine Yebra, Deputy Sheriff for 3 years, 7 months. Previously employed with the Sonoma County Probation Department.
• Joseph Nouguier, Deputy Sheriff for 5 years, 7 months.
• Karl Huey, Deputy Sheriff for 7 months.
• Keegan Cutting, Deputy Sheriff for 10 months.
• Nicholas Dellia, Deputy Sheriff for 10 months. Previously employed with the Calistoga Police Department.
