St. Petersburg Police Release Video of Officer Shooting Germaine Small Jr.

The sheriff says that Germaine Small Jr. had just been released from prison 28 days earlier.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Petersburg Police Department have released videos of an officer shooting Germaine Small Jr.

The sheriff reports that Germaine Small Jr. had been released from prison 28 days earlier after serving nine years for robbery. Small was armed with a handgun loaded with a fifty-round drum magazine.

A victim called 911 to report that a man with a gun was walking down the street and randomly began shooting at the victim.

When deputies arrived, Small pointed his gun a the deputy and shot at the deputy.

The deputy defended himself by shooting Small, who fell down and was arrested.

Suspect Small was taken to the hospital for treatment and now faces felony charges in court.
