Two East Cleveland Police Officers Shot in Ambush by Alleged Double Murder Suspect

Police say that both officers are now in stable condition at University Hospitals.

A suspect is in custody after an all-night manhunt following a shooting that left four people wounded, including two East Cleveland police officers—Officer Brandon Hernandez and 37-year-old Officer Joshua Durba. Both officers are now in stable condition at the University Hospitals.

The incident began around 11 p.m. Thursday, when police responded to a domestic dispute at a home in the 1900 block of North Taylor Road. Inside, two people were found dead. Officer Durba was shot outside the residence and came under immediate gunfire.
