U.S. Army Soldier Katia Duenas-Aguilar Found Murdered in Clarksville, Tennessee

Katia Duenas-Aguilar was a graduate of Mesquite High School in Texas.

Family members and LULAC are offering a $55,000 reward for information about the murder of Katia Duenas-Aguilar. Police in Clarksville, Tennessee, say last Saturday night, the 23-year-old’s body was found inside a home.

Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar enlisted in the Army in 2018 as an information technology specialist, completing basic training at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. In 2019, she was stationed at Fort Campbell. Duenas-Aguilar was originally from Mesquite, Texas.

“We are stunned by the death of Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar,” said Lt. Col. Tony Hoefler, spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division. “We will continue to cooperate with Army and local investigative authorities on this matter.”

The Clarksville Police Department responded to an ambulance call at approximately 8:33 p.m. on Saturday at Duenas-Aguilar’s residence, where she was found deceased. Local law enforcement ruled her death a homicide on Sunday and released her identity on Tuesday after notifying her family.
