Newly Released Footage Shows Pickup Crash Into Killeen Mall and Police Fatally Shooting John Darrel Schultz
Newly obtained dashcam and body camera footage captures the moment a pickup truck crashed into Killeen Mall during a police chase on December 21, 2024.
Authorities say 53-year-old John Darrel Schultz of Kempner drove his truck into the JCPenney store while fleeing law enforcement, injuring several people.
KWTX obtained the video eight months after the incident. The footage, recorded by DPS Trooper Brody Telfer, shows him positioned along I-35 South in Belton after Temple police reported a reckless driver in a truck.
