Anaheim police say the woman who allegedly threw a dog in bag over a fence was identified and interviewed and her case has been presented to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for potential animal abuse charges. According to the latest reports, she has not been arrested; however, the investigation is ongoing.

The small male Maltese mix was found by Dr. Ash Hakhamian, a veterinarian at the University Veterinary Center, the morning after the incident. The dog sustained injuries to its jaw and face from the fall and landing on a spike strip at the top of the fence. More concerning were signs of long-term neglect, including severe malnourishment, anemia, countless fleas, and overgrown nails that had curled into his paw pads.
