Anaheim Police Department Press Release Re: Classic Jewellery Robbery

ANAHEIM, Calif. (January 24, 2026) — Anaheim Police officers arrested eight suspects, including one juvenile, following a commercial burglary at a jewelry store that resulted in two separate traffic collisions in Anaheim and Fullerton.
On January 23, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Anaheim Police officers responded to Classic Jewelers, located at 5753 East Santa Ana Canyon Road, following reports of a commercial burglary that had just occurred. Employees reported that multiple suspects intentionally rammed a dark-colored Nissan Rogue into the front of the business to gain entry and steal jewelry. During the burglary, the suspects also stole a firearm from behind the counter that belonged to the business.
After the burglary, the suspects fled in two separate vehicles, both described as silver or gray Dodge Chargers, leaving the Nissan at the scene, which was later determined to be stolen. A short time later, an Anaheim Police officer observed a vehicle matching the description of one of the suspect vehicles near East Street and the SR-91 Freeway. The vehicle exited at Lemon Street, and the officer followed it northbound. At that time, the officer did not initiate a traffic stop, and no police pursuit was underway. As the vehicle approached Orangethorpe Avenue, it was involved in a multi-vehicle traffic collision. The driver and three passengers fled from the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody shortly after. After searching of the area, three additional subjects believed to be related were located and arrested.
Anaheim officers in the police helicopter located what they believed to be the second suspect vehicle near the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Brea Boulevard in the City of Fullerton. That vehicle was later involved in a multi-vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Euclid Street and Malvern Avenue in Fullerton. At that time, no officers from the Fullerton or Anaheim Police Department were in pursuit of the vehicle and arrived on scene as the collision occurred. Two individuals believed to be involved in the burglary were immediately located and arrested.
Several hours later, two additional males, also believed to be involved, were located and arrested in the rear yard of separate residences. A handgun was recovered at the scene of the second collision. Additionally, several jewelry items were located at both scenes. Detectives are working to determine whether it is the same firearm and jewelry that were stolen during the burglary.
Several uninvolved motorists were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collisions. Their identities are not being released at this time.
The suspects have been identified as:
1. 24-year-old Jose Andres Martinez-Colindres, resident of Inglewood
2. 23-year-old Leontrey Gipson, resident of Los Angeles
3. 23-year-old Deondre Jones, resident of Los Angeles
4. 20-year-old Tylaind Brown, resident of Compton
5. 20-year-old Khilen Toles, resident of Inglewood
6. 20-year-old Khamari Toles, resident of Inglewood
7. 19-year-old Latrell Mathews, resident of Los Angeles
8. 17-year-old male juvenile, resident of Los Angeles
All adult suspects were arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple felony charges pending review by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending further proceedings.
