Fernando Salazar Wanted by LA Sheriff’s Department for Alleged Escape

Deputies say Fernando Salazar escaped from the Pico Rivera station on foot.

Fernando Salazar was in Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department custody and assigned as an inmate worker (trusty) at Pico Rivera Station.

On 2/13/23 at approximately 4:49 am, suspect Fernando Salazar escaped from the station on foot wearing a blue L.A. County Jail jacket and white boxers.

He attempted to steal a vehicle and was unsuccessful. Fernando Salazar was last seen walking toward the San Gabriel riverbed off Washington Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Whittier.

Salazar is primarily transient, he has had prior contacts in Downey, Norwalk, Bellflower, Lakewood, Whittier, and Long Beach. Salazar possibly has family in Pico Rivera.
