Former Officer Joseph Tucker Harris Charged with Allegedly Assaulting Prisoner Caught on Camera

The Jonesboro Police Department reports that Harris was terminated from the police department.

Joseph Tucker Harris is a former police officer for the Jonesboro Police Department in Arkansas who was fired and arrested after video evidence showed him allegedly assaulting a handcuffed inmate.

Harris is accused of allegedly beating Billy Lee Coram in the back of his patrol car as he was taking Coram to the Craighead County Detention Center.

K8 News reports that two days before his trial was to commence, a circuit judge signed an order of continuance, rescheduling it for Oct. 29 and Nov. 6. The jury trial is now set for Nov. 17 through 21.

The Jonesboro Police Department reports that Harris was terminated from the police department.
