Monroe County sheriff’s deputies report that Scott Thomas Deiseroth is a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officer from Miami, Florida, who was arrested in August 2025 on charges of alleged DUI, child neglect, and resisting arrest. The arrest gained significant public attention after body camera footage was released in October 2025, showing Deiseroth asking a Black deputy if he was Haitian during the traffic stop.

Arrest and charges:
Incident: On August 13, 2025, Monroe County deputies pulled over Deiseroth, 42, for driving erratically near the Florida Keys.
Intoxication:
Deputies reported a strong smell of alcohol. Deiseroth failed field sobriety exercises, and two breathalyzer tests showed his blood-alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit.
Child endangerment:
Deiseroth had his two children, ages 7 and 9, in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Interaction with police: During the arrest, Deiseroth identified himself as a federal agent and resisted exiting his vehicle. After being handcuffed, he repeatedly cursed at the officers. He was released on bond following his arrest.
Questioning an officer’s origin:
Body camera footage shows Deiseroth repeatedly asking a Black deputy if he was “Haitian,” prompting the officer’s colleagues to state that his nationality was irrelevant.
