In a shocking incident, 25-year-old Radhika Yadav, a former national-level tennis player, was allegedly shot and killed by her father Thursday morning while she was cooking in the kitchen at their home. Yadav was cooking a meal for her sick mother on her mother’s birthday.
Police say their investigation has uncovered troubling details, including the father’s resentment and the perceived social stigma he felt about relying on his daughter’s income.
Police say that Yadav’s father was angry that neighbors in the village made fun of him, accusing him of living off his daughter’s income.
