San Jose Police Department Press Release Re: Triple Homicide on Chynoweth Avenue.

On September 16, 2025, at approximately 12:26 AM, the San José Police Department received multiple calls of gunshots heard and a woman screaming for help in the 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and located an adult female victim outside the residence, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Additionally, Officers located a second adult female victim and an adult male victim inside the residence, both suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The second female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The unidentified suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The SJPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is actively investigating the incident.
The identity of the victims will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
This incident is being investigated as the City’s 19th, 20th and 21st homicides of 2025.
