Update on August 8, 2025, Sexual Assault Investigation

LOCATION: 400 block of Frederick St

INVOLVED SUBJECTS:

Suspect: Unknown Age: 25-29 Arrested: No Charges: Several Felony Charges

Santa Cruz, CA — Update: The Santa Cruz Police Department continues to investigate a sexual assault that occurred on Friday, August 8, 2025, in the area of the 400 block of Frederick Street between 1:30 AM and 6:30 AM.

The survivor, an adult female, reported being violently attacked and sustained serious injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male adult in his mid-to-late 20s, with a thin build, approximately 5’8” to 5’9” tall. A composite sketch, created with the assistance of the survivor, was released. We ask that you look at the sketch and assist us in identifying the suspect.

The case remains active with Detectives working with allied police agencies as needed (to include University Police), and they continue to pursue all leads. Detectives are also awaiting results from the lab as evidence is being processed and analyzed. No further updates will be provided at this time unless significant developments occur.
