Sauk Village Police Video Shows Officer Mistakenly Shooting 14-Year-Old Boy

Sauk Village is located in Cook County, South of Chicago and near the Indiana state line.

Sauk Village police have released showing a police sergeant mistakenly shooting a 14-year-old boy. The sergeant allegedly told investigators that he thought he was using his taser but mistakenly pulled out his gun.

The teen was running away after struggling with the officers as they were trying to handcuff him.

The Illinois state police investigated the incident and the state prosecutors declined to file any charges against the sergeant.

The Sauk Village police chief has not taken any disciplinary action against the sergeant.
