Gunmen Open Fire on Plantation Home, Police Say Vehicle Tied to I-95 Shooting

A Plantation neighborhood was rattled by gunfire Wednesday after a group of suspects sprayed bullets at a home in broad daylight, police said.
The shooting happened just after noon in the 4800 block of Northwest First Street. Surveillance video shows four people exiting a blue-grey Mercedes Benz GLE 450 coupe and firing multiple rounds at a rental house before fleeing.
Investigators said the SUV, which had a Florida tag, was reported stolen out of Miami Gardens. Plantation police believe the same vehicle was involved in another shooting about 45 minutes later on Interstate 95, where shots were fired at a gray BMW and a white Dodge Ram, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
No injuries were immediately reported. The investigation is ongoing.
Plantation Police Department Press Release Re: Shooting into Residence
On August 27, 2025, just after 12:00 PM, a shooting occurred at a rental residence located at 4891 NW 1st St in Plantation. A newer model blue/grey Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Coupe pulled up in front of the residence, and four subjects exited the vehicle and began shooting in the direction of the home. The suspect vehicle had a Florida tag attached, which had been reported stolen out of Miami Gardens.
There were no injuries as a result of the shooting. The suspects in this case fled the scene and are currently at large. The targeted occupants of the home (all from Miami Gardens) were uncooperative in this case, and therefore, the motive for this shooting is unclear at this time.
This incident was captured on surveillance video (see attached).
It is believed that the suspects were involved in a separate shooting that occurred approximately 45 minutes later on Southbound Interstate 95 and NW 103rd St. in Miami-Dade (FHP Investigating).
This case is active and currently under investigation. The public is urged to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477), 1 (866) 493-TIPS (Toll Free), or www.browardcrimestoppers.org
