Upon arrival, officers observed a small amount of smoke emanating from a trailer. They gained access and discovered an unresponsive woman inside. Following an investigation, officers determined the cause of death to be homicide, and the fire was determined to be arson. It was discovered that the woman’s two children, a two-year-old girl, Angie Trujillo, and a three-year-old boy Ricardo Trujillo, were missing from the home. Their father, Ricardo Trujillo (29 years of age), was also unaccounted for.
An Amber Alert was issued for the 2 children and the suspect Ricardo Trujillo. They were suspected to be driving a 2007 Ford F150 with Utah plate number 8BSC6, that was also listed in the Amber Alert.
Later that evening, an individual reported seeing the vehicle listed in the Amber Alert on the side of the road in Springville Canyon. Officers responded and located the children with Ricardo Trujillo, who was taken into custody.
