Multiple residents in Monterey Park are coming forward with surveillance footage of what seems to be the same few suspects involved in multiple home burglaries.

Police are actively searching for suspects involved in a string of home burglaries in Monterey Park. Two victims believe the thieves carefully watched their homes and waited for the right moment to strike.

In one case, the thieves stole an elderly couple’s entire retirement savings—decades of hard-earned money—within minutes. The couple’s daughter, who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons, shared details with KTLA’s Rachel Menitoff, hoping someone might recognize the suspects.

The daughter explained that three thieves targeted her family’s home near Findlay Avenue and Floral Drive at around 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, while everyone was away at work.

“They climbed over our brick wall into the backyard,” she said. “They cut through the metal door, made a hole, and that’s how they got inside.”

Once in, the thieves broke into a locked room, ransacked the house, and found a heavy safe containing valuables and the couple’s retirement savings.

“My parents worked so hard for this, and now, as they reach retirement age, they might never be able to retire,” the daughter said, heartbroken.

A neighbor’s Ring camera captured footage of the suspects backing a white Subaru Ascent onto the front lawn, struggling to load the 150-pound safe into the trunk.

Just a few days earlier, another burglary occurred about three miles away. The victim, Raymond Yao, said he was out for lunch when he noticed two masked men inside his home via a puppy cam.

The thieves made off with a designer purse, cash, and his wife’s wedding ring. Yao noted the suspicious attire of the burglars, wearing hoodies and baggy clothing despite a heatwave.

“The worst part isn’t losing material things—it’s losing our sense of safety and peace of mind,” Yao said. “Now we live in constant fear—what if it happens again?”

The elderly couple’s daughter echoed Yao’s concerns: “We’ve been consumed by this, wondering how to bring these guys to justice and prevent this from happening to others.”

Monterey Park Police have collected significant surveillance footage but have yet to make any arrests. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Monterey Park Police Department.
